I graduated in 1970, started college at Solano Community College, worked and attended college part time, was married and divorced by 1976.
In 1976 I moved to Minnesota to finish attending college at Gustavus Adolphus College where I completed my BA in psychology. I traveled around europe after college and spent a semester in Vadstena, Sweden attending a Folk High School (1978) to improve my swedish language skills. I'm actually of norwegian descent, but close enough.
I remained in Minnesota where the majority of my extended family (aunts, uncles cousins) lives and started working for Hennepin County in the Economic Assistance Department in 1980. After a long term relationship broke up, I felt my biological clock ticking and adopted 2 children from Paraguay. Cameron born in June, 1989 (adopted at 9 months) and Kristina born in Nov 1989 ( adopted at 4 years). My daughter has given me a grandson Giovanni who is now two and a half.
I retired from Hennepin County in Aug 2010 after 30 years and moved from Minneapolis to a hobby farm in Blue Earth, Mn. It's about 7 miles from Iowa. Rural living is incredible and I feel blessed every time I walk out the door. Despite the cold and snow (I now have a six speed snowblower), it's an amazing experience to see brilliant stars, hear and see wildlife all around and not have to drive in Minneapolis traffic.
I am making plans to convert one of the out buildings into a chicken coop and am planning on getting some other farm critters to make farm living official.
