Yes! Attending Reunion

Tried to retire from teaching after 39 years but after duck season got really bored so working half time at a charter school in the big town of Alturas. Rumor is going around that we might get a stop light in Modoc County (pop. 10,ooo) My true enjoyment is working the Warner's as a Wilderness Ranger (get paid to go backpacking) and going to big fires as a Wildland Fire Resource Officer. Still running and coaching did 8 miles yesterday. Won my age group by over two minutes at a race in Redding last week. But slowing down, have 6th grade girls that can kick my tail. Karla is going to retire in Oct. and then we are going to do some serious traveling. Going to grandsons wrestling meet today. He usually does well at it. Looking forward to the next reunion and having a beer with everybody.

School Story:

I remember Wayne Glime and I used to direct traffic at basketball games and have a long straw under our shirts to our booze. It is amazing we did not cause an accident..

Just got home from the August Fire (1000000 acre one). Three more days on USFS Engine354 then finally retire from wildland fire fighting. Just going to be a resource advisor on large fires. Hunt with my new pup, run alot and spend time with Karla hiking and having fun. Life is good!

Happy birthday Herb. It has been a long time. Taking 51 kids to Redding Sat. for a race. I am still running and fighting fire for the forest service in the summer. I figure two more years of that and then get out of it. Again have a great birthday.

Hi Mick:
Big question about the reunion. Karla and I sent our 60 dollar check in have a copy of the check. Do we use that to get in or do we receive some type of ticket to get into the reunion? Man what a fire season, have realized a 64 year old man running around the mts. of Happy Camp for a month with 20 and 30 year old kids is rough. But have been able to hang with them but the phneumonia and poison oak was horrible. Any way let us know about the tickets.
