Stephen Charles Gibson

Stephen Charles Gibson, 67, of New Boston, Texas, died Monday, May 20, 2019, at his home, while in the embrace of his youngest son, Stephen.

Mr. Gibson, known to many as “Ernie,” was born Jan. 26, 1952, in Springfield, Massachusetts.

He was retired from Red River Army Depot, an Air Force veteran, and a life-long professional musician. He graduated from Fairfield High School Class of 1970, where he was a member of the Scarlet Brigade. Later, he graduated from Solano Community College.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Jonathon and Kendyl Gibson of Reno, Nevada, Stephen Gibson and Tiffany Campbell of Reno, Nevada; daughter and son-in-law, Scarlet and Joshua Pennywell of Shreveport, Louisiana; brother, David Gibson of Fairfield, California; sister, Robin Dolan of Pompano Beach, Florida; two granddaughters, Katy Pennywell of Shreveport, Louisiana, and Rita Grace Gibson of Reno, Nevada; and a number of other beloved relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, June 21, 2019, at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Road, Dixon California. Reception to follow, at 1766 Gillespie Drive, Fairfield, CA.
