Even tho I was advised to learn typing and become a secretary, I went to UC Davis right after high school. I did started as a chem major. Then changed my major several times. I guess I didn’t know what I wanted to be when I grew up. I decided not to grow up. I got married before I completed my BS. David and I both went to work for Exxon refinery in Benicia. We were both opperaters. I was being groomed to be the first female supervisor. Then on January 2 1978 ,David died in an accident along with 2 others. I found it difficult to see my friends and myself in dangerous situations. My next job was at the powerhouse in Yountville. After 16 years I injured my knee requiring 2 surgeries.I could not find a position at Yountville that was near my salary.

School Story:

I was a weird one, kind of a hippy. Hung out with several guys. Not really friends with the girls. I usually hung out with older or younger students. I got an F in arts and crafts and PE. Teachers didn’t like that I “got” the subject without doing homework. Except Miss Phillips in algebra. She said if you got an A on the quiz, you didn’t have to do the homework. We got along famously.

I remember you as a gentle artistic soul. I envy your creativity. I felt as tho I was hanging around at the edge of your group of friends. I never belonged to any group.
