Mrs. Anne Novina (Art Teacher)

Anne McGranahan Novina

October 24, 1928 - July 11, 2019

Anne McGranahan Novina passed away peacefully at Celia's Hospice House in So. Medford on July 11, 2019 at the age of 90¾. Anne was born October 24, 1928, to Dr. James Henry McGranahan and Elizabeth Louise Markham of Long Beach, CA.

Anne prided herself as an avid horse rider. She attended Beloit College and graduated from USC with her degree in Art. One of her first jobs (American Express travel agent in Hollywood, CA), provided many a story, but she found her true calling as a high school teacher and mentor of kids (students) in the north bay of California. Anne is survived by her cousin Peggy Stragier of Arizona, her 2 Kitties, (Priscilla and Lilly Belle), and numerous close friends and "kids". Anne moved from Berkeley CA to Polson MT and finally settled in Ashland, her home for the last 25 years. She was a volunteer at the Ashland Chamber of Commerce, taught art privately and enjoyed her own art galleries in Berkeley, Polson and A Street in Ashland. As one very close friend remarked, Anne had a knack for collecting friends. Many of those friends gathered last October at Omar's for a grand 90thBirthday party. She shall be missed.
