Casey Coppock (1971)

 I met Mike in grammer school at David A. Weir. We were good friends and spent many hours playing baseball down at the school yard.  Home run Derby.  It was Mike  and Jessie Womack, verses me and Lanny Ireton.  Thanks for good memories Mike...My condolences to his mother and father.

Lannie Wynn (1971)

    I met Mike in elementary school.  Both Casey and I went to Daviid A. Weir  Elementary school.  I remember him

as very active and so cute! He seemed to be able to do every sport, and well.  I am not certain, but I believe he  

and his family lived directly across the street from my family on Cambridge Drive, but  they moved  to another  

home and it broke my young heart.  I met him again in High School.  I immediately knew that it was Mike, just 

taller and more mature.  But  apparently I had changed  so much with maturing that he didn't  recognize  the 

very shy  girl  who lived across the street, and had a teen's crush on him for several years. My heart goes out to

Mike's parents  who lost their son far to early in life.   In "Heaven" , this time I promise to introduce myself to your 

Son, and this time I will be less shy and take him up on that offer of a " movie and popcorn".  We have not 

forgotten you Mike, and I doubt we ever will . . .  Lannie Wynn '71
