Susan L. Morrison, 56, passed away on Saturday, March 13, 2010, after a courageous four-year battle with cancer. She was at home, surrounded by her family.
Susan was born on Nov. 17, 1953, at the American Hospital in Paris, France. She was 1 year old when her father was reassigned to Travis AFB. After graduating in 1971 from Fairfield High School, she graduated from Heald Business College in Sacramento. For the next 32 years, she worked in the insurance industry as a property claims adjuster.
Susan was preceded in death by her father, Walter Afholderbach Jr.
She is survived by her husband of 30 years, John Morrison; stepdaughters, Amy Hutchinson (Darrin), and Shannon Roman of Austin, Texas; step-grandsons, Joshua, Rome, and Nicolas of Austin, Texas; her mother, Alice Afholderbach of Fairfield; sister, Nancy Afholderbach (Wayne Chun) of Pittsburg; brother, Mark Afholderbach (Carol) of Fairfield; nephews, Kenneth Afholderbach (Catherine), and son, Daniel of Guyton, Ga., and Jack Afholderbach of Fairfield.
Susan was a member of the Women of the Moose, Chapter 1379, of the Fairfield Lodge No. 861 for 27 years. Sue was a College of Regents and a Star Recorder. Those who know Sue, knew that she collected owls. She had hundreds of them. Friends and family would travel the country and the world, always managing to find a different owl for her collection. Golf was her passion for the past 15 years. No matter the weather, she was ready to hit to course. In November, she was re-elected for the third year as president of the Fairfield Moose Golf Club.
Sue will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Her smile and soft voice left an impression on all she came in contact with.

I recently found my way back to my roots &
submitted my profile . As I was trying to remember my classmates , Susan was the
first name that clicked . She and I went to David A. Weir Elementary school together
from the 4th grade through the 8th. I remember her sweet quiet voice and I
am stunned and saddened to hear of her death. My thoughts go out to her family.

Susan and I go back to David A. Weir elementary school. She and her family lived across the street from me. All you need to know about Susan is she was just a good good person. There was nothing not to like about her...my condolences to her family.
