In Memory

Debbie Abruzzini (Blanc) - Class Of 1970

     Fairfield High School
Classes of 1968 - 1971

Deborah Blanc, died peacefully on her ranch surrounded by family on May 12, 2016. Born in St. Helena, California, Debbie spent her life on her ranch in Gordon Valley.

Graduating from Fairfield High School in 1970, where she had been head cheerleader and was named “Most Athletic.” She worked at Wooden Valley Winery for many years where she was beloved by all customers. Never without her cowboy hat and boots, Debbie was an avid outdoorswoman who reveled in the sunshine, her eclectic garden, and her adopted animals.

Married for 31 years to Terry Blanc, she adored their two daughters Amber and Lacy and was thrilled with their husbands James Sales and Joe DeQuatrro. She was “Cowboy Nonie” to her three beautiful grandchildren, Cayden, Adaleigh and Alice.

After being widowed from Terry, Debbie was happily married to Allen Pendelton who shared her love for nature and the frontier lifestyle.

She will be remembered as an original pioneer who spoke truthfully from her heart, a courageous and brave individual with a big smile, warm welcome and always something delicious simmering on the stove.

Debbie is survived by her husband, Al Pendleton; daughters and sons-in-law, Amber and James Sales and Lacy and Joe Dequattro; mother, Alice Abruzzini; brother, Fred Abruzzini; sisters, Patty Flannery and Cynthia Sheaff; grandchildren, Cayden, Adaleigh and Alice; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In honor of Debbie’s love of the Wild West, a celebration of life will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 28, 2016, at the Suisun Fire District Station 32, 4965 Clayton Road Fairfield, California. Please wear your best western attire.

Arrangements are under the care of Bryan-Braker Funeral Home, Fairfield, California. 707-425-4697, www.bryanbraker.com

Please post for her FFS classmates 1969-1971 .Debbie Abruzzini Blanc died on May 12 and was buried on May 19th. On Saturday, May 28 at 11:30am we are holding a Celebration of Life , Suisun District FireHouse #32, 4965 Clayton Rd., Fairfield, Ca. In honor of Debbie's love of the Frontier and Wild West, the Celebration will be a Country Western affair. Before Debbie died I was working on an article about her garden. Deb was able to read the draft and see the photos I was proposing, but unfortunately she never got to see the published and printed version . Link is here to give a glimpse into Deb's creativity and whimiscal frontier nature: https://www.lamorindaweekly.com/archive/issue1006/Digging-Deep-with-Cynthia-Brian.html Hope to see you at the Celebration of Life for Debbie on May 28th. Thank you. She will be missed. Warmly, Cynthia Abruzzini (Brian)

This is such a shock and hurts my heart.  She was such a kind and sweet person.  She not only had a wonderful smile but never had an unpleasant word to say.  She and my mother had a special bond when my mother went to the winery.  Debbie touched my mothers heart and in turn she touched my heart more knowing the kindness and time she took for my mother.  She will be truly missed by many and prayers to the family.

It is strange that one of the people I was seeking out at the reunion this last summer was Debbie as being cheerleaders and close friends throughout our high school years she was someone I loved and admired. I have great memories of going on vacation with her to Clear Lake and watched her kill a rattlesnake with a shovel and her bare hands. ONLY DEBBIE! We would go 4 wheeling behind her family property after I spent the night having a great time in their recreation room behind the house and her momma making us her fantastic crepes/pancakes in the morning! We even hooked up later when I moved back here from the East Coast and she was living down the street from my mother on Hemlock St. We had great conversations sharing how great it was to be  mothers! She was such a bright and positive light!

My mother still lives in Fairfield and said she did not see anything listed in the paper. Does anyone know what happened to her? Kathie

I think there is a service for Debbie this weekend (Sunday?) out at Mankas Corner (?). I heard that from Steve Dodini; I did not pay close attention because I still live in CO.
