Comments:

-After Graduation I joined the Navy. Served on the Carrier USS Midway for a year and then did an in-country tour in Vietnam from '71 to '72 at Naval Support Facility in Danang, RVN.
-After Vietnam I attended De Anza Community College in Cupertino and transferred to U.C. Berkeley . Got a degree in Psychology in 1977.
-After Berkeley I got a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology plus internship at the U.C. Davis Medical Center, Dept. of Psychiatry, 1977 to 1982.
- I married in 1976 to Barbara Bardwil and am still married (almost 34 years). We have no children.
- I worked as a Staff Psychologist at the U.C. Davis Counseling and Psychological Services on the Davis Campus from 1982 until I retired in July of 2008. During this time I set up and ran the Behavioral Medicine Unit at the UC Davis Student Health Center. I also started and coordinated the Post Doctoral Training Program in Psychology at the Counseling Center. I did a lot of Counseling, Psychotherapy, Crisis Intervention, Consultation and Training in those years. I also had a part-time private practice in Davis for about ten years. It was a great career and I was privileged to assist so many college students and university staff. But I did get burned out and was glad to exit when I did.
- As I grew up in part on a ranch in Northern CA, I always wanted to get back to the country. In 1993 we bought an almond ranch in the Capay Valley which is west of Davis and north of Winters (people usually never heard of this beautiful valley until the arrival of Cache Creek Casino). This place helped me to hang on to my own mental health during my psych career. I built a barn, designed a house and did a lot of orchard work. But also have just enjoyed the peace and the wildlife.
- Like many in our generation (especially being in CA) I explored different self-growth experiences i.e. psychotherapy, mens group, EST, various eastern religions, etc. In 1982 I settled on a particular spiritual path that involves daily meditation and integrates well with the rest of my life. This practice and perspective has made all the difference in my life!
-I love critters. We have three cats who were born on the ranch and I am pretty attached to them.
- Since retirement we have been pretty involved with care of elderly parents and completing some major projects around the ranch. I enjoy running, meditating, some writing and wood working projects.

I have wondered over the years how certain high school buddies and old girlfriends are doing, and what they are doing now. I hope to see many of them at the reunion.

School Story:

I really was not much of a student at FHS. I mostly worked (Preston's Furniture Store & Deliveries for Fairfield Florist),
visited my girlfriend, went to dances (remember Redman's and the Teen Center in Vacaville), took trips up to Lake Berryessa on my motorcycle, hung out with buddies, drank Colt 45 or Coors, and struggled with the anxiety of what to do about post high school and Vietnam. I think the thing I enjoyed most about high school were my good friends!!
