Myra Ann Gonzales

June 14, 1951 — Jan. 28, 2012

Myra Ann Gonzales was born on June 14, 1951, and joined our Lord on Jan. 28, 2012, after a long illness.

Her strong faith guided her and helped her with many health challenges. She was dedicated to her family, friends and students. As a counselor at Mesa Community College in San Diego, she was devoted to ensuring access to higher education for all.

Myra is survived by her parents, Raymond and Myra Gonzales; son, Joe Monterosso; comadre, Sylvia Peralta; grandchildren, Anthony, Isabella and Ben Monterosso; brothers, Raymond, Michael and Patrick; sister, Lisa; sisters-in-law, Penny, Kathy and Pati; daughters-in-law, Masako and Nicole; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Noelleen Joy Gonzales.

Myra was laid to rest at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 10, 2012, at Holy Cross Cemetery Chapel in San Diego.

Patti Burns (Thoming) (1969)

Myra, I often think of you. I've known Myra since the 2nd & 3rd grade at Narimasu School in Tachi, Japan. She moved to the states and our family followed a few months later, we moved in across the sidewalk from her family at Travis AFB. We met again in High School. Rest in peace my friend.
